HOW TO GET A GOOD ESTIMATE |
|
- Don't jump at the lowest price. You have to investigate the estimate and find out if it's realistic or not.
- Break down each movers' estimate into parts, amount of time estimated, number of people, amount of material, quality of movers, and equipment and compare each company's hourly rates.
- Is the person giving you the estimate going to be on the move or is that person just a salesman (Todd does the estimates and the moves)?
- How long has the moving company been in business? This is very important; you don't want just anyone moving your belongings.
- Make sure the moving company is licensed through the NC Utilities Commission. In the Yellow Pages you will see in the ad if they have a NCUC #. Even if they have a NCUC # go to www.ncuc.net to make sure their insurance will be valid at the time of your move and their certificate has not been cancelled.
